In my family many dates are shared, 365 days and things fall on the same day! Today is no exception to that, on the 5th December 34 years ago I qualified as a Sick Kids Nurse in Edinburgh I am still very proud to call myself a Registered Nurse even though I no longer work in the NHS, I use my skills in many different ways, for clients with integrated/functional medicine and teaching first aid. Yes that was my hair back then!
10 years ago, I moved to a house where I could have a separate treatment room and even a choice of treatment rooms when it gets too cold to use the conservatory! You see the garden and how it produces food and keeps me grounded, that is my therapy.

World Aids Day, a time to stop and think about those that passed due to this horrible disease, those that still live with it and the progress that has been made to allow people to live safely with HIV including ARVs and PrEP.
💔First cases were noted in 1981 in the USA,
😢1982 Terry Higgins dies and a foundation was set up in his name a year later,
❄1987 ‘AIDS: Don’t Die Of Ignorance’ leaflet was sent out to every house in the UK, alongside a hard hitting advert,
🎀1 Dec 1988 first World Aids Day,
🎥1993 the film “Philadelphia” starring Tom Hanks as a lawyer with AIDS is released, the first film to mention HIV/AIDS,
🌍1997 there were 30 million people living with HIV worldwide but deaths continued to fall,
🎗2010 the Equality Act came into effect,
💊2020 PrEP available on the NHS.
